2011 President Message
Dear GCA
Members,
I am
very fortunate to be given the opportunity to become your
President of GCA 2011. I feel obligated and responsible to all
GCA Members that have placed their trust and confidence in me to
lead our great organization. With your support, together we can
make a difference. The GCA Committee and myself will promise to
work hard with full responsibility and dedication. I ask all
members to support GCA, as we are all volunteers dedicating our
valuable time to this wonderful organization.
I am
very humbled and proud to say, GCA has completed 3 decades of
history and we are entering our 4th decade. I am one
of the pioneer and founding committee members of GCA back in
1981. Back then; our committee was made up of 11 members.
Rajeshbhai Dholakia was our 1st President for GCA.
All of the committee members gave $100 to open our initial
checking account for GCA. To the best of my knowledge, less
than 100 Gujarati families were living in the Phoenix
Metropolitan area at that time. We have achieved great success
in 30 years of our organization. We all should be very proud of
our Gujarati Community unity and strength. We have only one
Gujarati Association in Phoenix compared to many others cities
across the USA that has several Gujarati Associations.
Please
accept our apology for not distributing our 2010 annual reports
in a timely manner. Our 2010 accounting was not completed on
time. We have some issues and trying to clarify with our 2010
President. We are working with the former President. We should
be able to send the GCA annual report to all of our members in
the near future. Thank you for your patience.
God Bless GCA
Dayram Ahir
GCA President 2011
