2009 President’s Message of Unity

 Dear Community Members,

I consider it an honor to be chosen to lead our Gujarati Cultural Association for 2009.  As a past president, I am humbled to once again be given the opportunity to assist our community and I thank you for the trust and faith you have placed in me.

I would like to welcome the entire 2009 GCA Executive Committee and I am pleased with the diverse and talented group that has decided to step forward on a volunteer basis to serve our Gujarati community in the valley.  Each member has pledged their time and effort to help make a difference and continue to rekindle the Gujarati Culture and Heritage that has been living for the past 27+ years…

I urge the community to focus on how to improve our future for the benefit of our future generations.  Let us take advantage of the energy of our youth by their active participation and the wisdom and experience of our elders to find a sustainable path to success and togetherness as a single community, with purpose and focus.  Mission of GCA is multifaceted; at one end of the spectrum it continues to host religious events such as Navratri, Shard Purnima and Diwali and at the other end of the spectrum it is striving to host more events for entertainment value such as drama, concert, picnic and, sports tournaments.  The underlying desire is to utilize the above-mentioned mission to help perpetuate rich Gujarati culture and assimilate fraternity among community member in our growing Phoenix metropolis

Please join our organization as we work together towards a better future.  Instead of asking what our organization can do for us, focus on what we can do for our community.   I look forward to meeting all of you during the course of the year.  Please mark your calendars for our annual picnic on 10th May (Mother’s day).

With warm regards,

Dr. Uttam Prajapati – President

Tarlika Patel – Vice President
